Installing Abbyy Flexicapture (Standalone Edition)

Installing the Abbyy Flexicapture Client

This guide will guide you or your IT team through the installation process for the Flexicapture software we provide for you. This contains step by step instructions to take you through each stage of the install process, along with screenshots for reference. If you are unsure of anything in the installation process or run into any issues, please feel free to contact support@itspectrum.co.uk and we will be happy to assist.

The Install Process

  1. Navigate to the folder where the Flexicapture installer is stored. If you also have Therefore as part of the solution, this may be stored within \\{SERVER_NAME}\Therefore$. However if this is not the case, please contact support@itspectrum.co.uk and we will be happy to point you in the right direction or provide the install file
  2. Once you have located the install file, double click this to run

  1. When asked if you would like to run the file, select Run

Please note that you may be prompted to enter credentials at any point during this installation.
This will require the credentials of a user who is an administrator or this can be done by your IT team.

  1. Once the application has started, select the Install button to prepare the files


  1. The application will then start extracting the required files for the installation


  1. Once this is done, you will be presented with a choice of installs. Select "Abbyy Flexicapture"


  1. When asked if you would like the application to make changes to your device, select Yes

  1. On the setup language, select the language you want to install Flexicapture in and click OK
  2. Accept the End-User License Agreement

  1. Enter the user's name and organization

  1. When prompted to select which components to install, select "Administrator Station"

  1. Leave the install location as default unless advised otherwise by your IT team

  1. Select Install to start the software installation

  1. The application will then start installing the software

  1. Once the install has finished, click Finish

  1. You can now click Exit on the initial install screen

  1. You can now launch the Administrator Station from the start menu to open the application
  2. When presented with the Open Project window, navigate to the folder where the project is stored using the Browse button
    1. If possible, you can compare this to another working PC to get the location
    2. If you are unsure of this, contact support@itspectrum.co.uk and we will point you in the correct direction

  1. Once the project has been opened, you will be taken to the list of documents waiting to be processed
